ncology massage is a tailor-made bodywork service designed to meet the unique and changing needs of cancer patients, both during and after treatment. Specific areas where oncology massage therapy can be beneficial for cancer patients include: post-operative healing, pain, symptom reduction, improved coping and enhanced quality of life. Cancer patients use therapeutic massage to improve symptom control and their personal sense of well being. The American Cancer Society recommends massage therapy to bring comfort and to improve the quality of life for cancer patients.

As an oncology massage therapist, practitioner AMY ZIMMERMAN recognizes and works within a framework of clinical considerations (blood cell count, medical devices, lymph node details, types of treatment, etc.) to create a bodywork session that is restorative and harmonizing. These sessions include Cranio Sacral, Swedish Massage, Therapeutic Touch (placement of hands without movement), gentle Therapeutic Stretching, in varying amounts and depending on the patient’s changing needs.

Amy began her body work training in Los Angeles where she received her first certification in Swedish Massage in 1998. Soon she expanded into Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, pregnancy, and oncology massage therapy. Amy is also a certified yoga instructor. “I am deeply committed to bringing cancer patients a highly personalized therapeutic massage experience designed to bring comfort and symptom relief throughout their cancer journey.” Amy is licensed in the state of California.
